Electronic Parking Brake Kits — The DJ4

Modern cars with electronic parking brakes have a dirty secret: you can upgrade the front brakes, but the rear is stuck with the factory caliper-motor assembly — unless you hack in an add-on drum or accept warning lights. The VINIC DJ4 mechatronic rear caliper ends that compromise: a forged rear caliper with the parking brake motor integrated, engineered to work with your factory EPB system. It is the missing page in every competitor’s catalog.
The Problem With EPB Conversions
On electronic-parking-brake cars, the parking brake lives inside the rear caliper. Traditional big brake conversions force ugly choices: a bolt-on secondary drum caliper, wiring workarounds, a dashboard warning light, or simply leaving the rear brakes stock while the front gets all the attention. Every option either compromises the parking brake, the balance of the car, or both.

DJ4: One Caliper, Motor Included
The DJ4 is a mechatronic rear caliper: a forged 7075-T6 body — the same 1,000-ton forging and 4-axis CNC machining as every VINIC caliper — with the electronic parking brake mechanism built in. It integrates its own motor drive and works with the factory EPB wiring and control logic — a direct replacement for the stock rear caliper. The parking brake button on your console works exactly as it did from the factory. No add-on drum, no warning lights, no compromises.
Complete the Four-Corner Upgrade
The DJ4 pairs with our front big brake kits — 6-piston for most sedans and SUVs — to deliver a true four-corner conversion on EPB platforms. Like every VINIC kit, the rear setup ships complete: DJ4 calipers, high-carbon rotors, compound-matched pads, QC/T970 braided lines and one-piece brackets 3D-scan engineered to your axle. See the full range on the big brake kits page.
DJ4 FAQ
Will the DJ4 work with my factory electronic parking brake?
Yes — that is the entire point. The DJ4 integrates its own motor drive and works with the factory EPB wiring and control logic, so the console switch, auto-hold and emergency functions work as the factory intended.
Will I get warning lights after installing the DJ4?
No. Because the mechatronic unit works with the factory EPB system rather than bypassing it, there are no dashboard warnings, no error codes and no add-on modules to hide.
Can I upgrade just the front brakes on an EPB car?
You can, and many owners start there — the front axle does most of the braking work. But the DJ4 exists so you do not have to stop there: add it later for balanced four-corner braking with a working factory parking brake.
Which cars does the DJ4 fit?
The DJ4 is engineered per vehicle from 3D scans, like every VINIC bracket. Send us your year, make and model and we will confirm the current application status for your EPB platform.
